Pabelle Manikan is an independent documentary filmmaker based in Manila. Her works have been programmed in Al Jazeera, National Geographic, ABS-CBN, CNN Philippines, ANC News Channel, and more. Her notable projects include “A March To Progress”, a 25-minute documentary on land grabbing, along with full-length documentaries such as “The Crescent Rising,” about the lives of people caught in the wrath of war in Mindanao, “All Grown Up,” on the challenges of motherhood, and “Sabi ni Mama,” a story that tackles online sex exploitation on Women and Children. Her debut film “Dreaming in the Red Light,” is an intimate story about a former sex worker and her daughter.
