Pragati K.B. is a freelance journalist based in Bengaluru, India. She writes about the political economy at the intersections of caste, gender, labour and culture. She previously worked with The Hindu. Her stories have been published in The Caravan, The Wire, The News Minute, The Hindu and others, including in publications by the Heinrich Boell Stiftung. She is a lawyer by training, having graduated from National Law University, Jodhpur. She is also a Teach for India Fellowship alumnus. She holds a postgraduate diploma in print journalism from Asian College of Journalism, Chennai. She is a Galley Beggar Press Short Story Prize 2021/22 longlistee.
